KRISTYN BEEMAN, MT-BC
Managing Partner / Music Therapist
Kristyn was born and raised in Shamokin, PA and graduated with magna cum laude honors from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy. Upon finishing her coursework, Kristyn completed an internship at Bethany Children’s Home in Womelsdorf, PA and became board certified in 2004.
Throughout the first 7 years of her career, Kristyn worked as a clinical music therapist treating individuals of varying ages and diagnoses. In addition to her clinical work, she also managed a large music therapy program where she supervised music therapy staff and oversaw progress of all clients served within the music therapy program.
In 2011, Kristyn fulfilled her dream of starting a private practice and collaboratively launched WB Music Therapy, LLC. She is a member of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and served on the Pennsylvania State Task Force for Occupational Regulation of Music Therapy. Kristyn has presented both regionally and nationally on a variety of music therapy topics such as music therapy advocacy, music therapy interventions with various clinical populations and professional retention within the field.
Outside of her music therapy career, you can find Kristyn as the lead singer for a local cover band Fully Stocked. She also enjoys home decorating, gardening and singing in her church choir. Above all, Kristyn enjoys spending quality time and traveling with her husband and daughter.
Melanie and Kristyn have both received certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) and earn at least 100 continuing education credits every 5 years. As professional members of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) they align their practice of music therapy in a responsible, fair, and accountable manner as well as with the standards of clinical practice set forth by the AMTA.
