Kristyn

Kristyn was born and raised in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, and graduated magna cum laude from Mansfield University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy. Following the completion of her academic coursework, she completed her internship at Bethany Children’s Home in Womelsdorf, PA, and earned her board certification in Music Therapy in 2004.

 

During the first seven years of her career, Kristyn worked as a clinical music therapist, providing services to individuals across a wide range of ages and diagnoses. Alongside her clinical responsibilities, she managed a large music therapy program, supervising music therapy staff and overseeing the treatment progress and outcomes of the clients served.                                              

 

In 2011, Kristyn achieved her long-held dream of private practice ownership by co-founding WB Music Therapy, LLC. She has been a member of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), previously served on the Pennsylvania State Task Force for Occupational Regulation of Music Therapy, and currently serves on the Ethics Committee for the Adult Community Autism Program. A passionate advocate for the profession, Kristyn has presented at regional and national conferences on topics including music therapy advocacy, evidence-based interventions for diverse clinical populations, and professional retention within the field.                                        

 

Today, Kristyn provides both individual and group music therapy services throughout Dauphin and Cumberland Counties. She also assists with the administrative operations of WB Music Therapy and provides supervision and mentorship to WBMT's music therapy interns.

Outside of her professional work, Kristyn enjoys sharing her love of music as the lead vocalist for the local cover band, Fully Stocked. She also serves in her church’s disability ministry and sings in the contemporary choir. In her free time, Kristyn enjoys home decorating and gardening. Above all, she treasures spending quality time and traveling with her husband, daughter, and beloved fur babies.
