MELANIE WALBORN, MT-BC
Managing Partner / Music Therapist
Melanie was raised in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania and moved on to graduate from Elizabethtown College where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Therapy.
During her 10 years of service to the Pennsylvania State Task Force for Occupational Regulation of Music Therapy, Melanie received the 2015 AMTA Changemaker Award as well as the 2017 MAR-AMTA Service Award. Melanie has presented at regional and national conferences on topics related to music therapy advocacy, music therapy and various clinical populations, and professional retention of music therapists. 2022 marks Melanie's 20th year of clinical practice.
While managing administrative and program development duties of WBMT, Melanie maintains a small caseload of adults and older adults in individual and group settings.
Melanie lives with her husband and daughter in West Hanover Township, PA and outside of her work, enjoys playing handbells and leading worship music at her church, camping, and playing volleyball.
Melanie and Kristyn have both received certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) and earn at least 100 continuing education credits every 5 years. As professional members of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) they align their practice of music therapy in a responsible, fair, and accountable manner as well as with the standards of clinical practice set forth by the AMTA.
